murals & wall art

I have a deep passion for wall art, be it painting directly onto the wall, or, onto boards for mounting. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to just paint something on a wall when there is only a limited number in my house! It’s also frowned upon if you get to work on someone else’s house, if they haven’t asked for it! So please get in touch if you have a character, landscape or modern design you’d like painted directly onto a wall of your house, inside or outside (weather permitting!). It will be sealed appropriately and last a surprisingly long time, so long as it’s not mounted with a dart board or such like!!

Murals are can be anything you wish them to be; landscape, abstract, splatter, character etc. Painting directly on walls may mean I have to work in your home for the duration of the project so please be prepared for this. The length of time a piece takes is entirely dependent on the size and condition of the wall, the detail and the layers required to build the picture. All projects will be assessed, for free, prior to starting and I will also do a visual representation for you on paper first.

The one thing I must make you aware of is with regards to copyright. I am not permitted to paint any mainstream characters, like the “Simpsons®” characters on your wall. Characters such as this must be altered in someway to be classed as “derivative”, which naturally, distorts the original character, and may well upset the young recipient.

All murals are painted using emulsion and acrylic paint and then sealed with an odourless, clear, matt solution to preserve them. Every care is taken to ensure that you are happy with the outcome. All quotes provided will be inclusive of travel time, materials, size of wall/image and time spent on site. The amount I quote won’t go up even if it takes longer than at first thought.

There will be many questions from me like “what is the condition and size of the wall?” “Are there any corners or holes?” “Will you be living in the room while I complete the project?” “Does the outside wall face the prevailing wind?” Remember that some projects may take a week or two. So any information you can provide in the early stages will help enormously.
